Montefiore's Windmill Seder Plate is #17/18 of the Collection*
Located in the picturesque neighborhood of Yemin Moshe, Montefiore's Windmill is an iconic fixture of Jerusalem's skyline. This seder plate is hand built from Israeli cream colored clay hewn from Israel's Negev desert, the very ground where Jews journeyed from slavery to freedom, as they wandered the desert from Egypt to Israel.
*The 18 unique seder plates in this collection were made from an impression I took of the iconic manhole covers that dot the streets of Jerusalem. The name of the collection, Next Year in Jerusalem, was inspired by the official emblem of the City of Jerusalem emblazoned in the iron of the stunning cover. Note, many of these have sold. Those remaining are listed here.
35 cm diameter tray and 6 small dishes for the special seder plate foods, bitter herbs, charoset, shank bone, egg, root vegetable and parsley or lettuce.
• Food safe
• Hand wash with care
A note about handmade art
As with all handmade art, no two pieces are identical. Limited edition
pieces are created in the same basic shape, size, style and palette, but
there will be small differences due to handmade nature of my work.
